Where the next adjustment stands
The CEF sheet of 2 October 2026 covers 2 Oct to 2 Oct. If the window closed that day, 95 would move by about +476.61 c/l, 50ppm diesel by +315.83 c/l. This is a projection, not a price.
Every working day the Central Energy Fund publishes the basic fuel price implied by that day’s international product prices and exchange rate, and compares it with the basic fuel price inside today’s pump price. The average of that gap over the review window – the over- or under-recovery – becomes most of the next adjustment.

How good is the CEF signal?
The table tests that rule on every adjustment of 2026. In 8 of 10 months the CEF average pointed in the right direction. Once changes in levies, margins and the slate are added, the average miss is 0.5 c/l.
The big gaps are policy, not markets: in April the general fuel levy on petrol was cut from 415 to 129 c/l as temporary relief, and the DMPR tables show it restored in two steps, to 279 c/l in June and 429 c/l in July. Those decisions are announced by the Treasury and the minister, and no daily sheet can see them coming.
