Zone 58C fuel price: R30.32 for 95

Piet Retief motorists, like everyone on code 58C, pay R30.32 for 95 and R29.95 for 93 once Wednesday 7 October comes round.

Compared with Durban or Cape Town (zone 1A), every litre here carries an extra 94 c/l of transport cost.

On the department’s district list, zone 58C takes in Piet Retief, Simdlangentsha and Wakkerstroom, spread over Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal.

The boundary with zone 57C runs near Volksrust, some 26 km from Wakkerstroom; 95 is 20 c/l cheaper on that side.

Expect diesel above the wholesale benchmark of R32.87 (50ppm). The 500ppm grade, mostly for older engines and farm use, is R32.02 wholesale.
